The BiG Austin project along East MLK Blvd. is designed to transform 15 acres of land into a vibrant mixed-use community that prioritizes connectivity, green space, and urban development. The client’s mission is to create a development that balances residential, retail, and community spaces, while fostering a strong sense of social interaction and community engagement. With its emphasis on integrating the natural environment into urban planning, the project features extensive green spaces and new access points to create a cohesive and accessible development. 

Located along East MLK Blvd., the project includes a variety of uses, such as mixed-use development, student housing, multifamily residences, and a hotel, all anchored by the St. James Missionary Baptist Church. A central plaza, community event center, and recreational lawns provide space for social gatherings and community activities, while retail and dining options encourage local economic growth. The inclusion of green space along the existing drainage easement enhances sustainability and adds to the overall appeal of the development. 

This project serves a diverse audience, including residents, students, and local businesses, while contributing to the revitalization of the surrounding area.
