Hemisfair Senior Park reimagines public space as an age-inclusive environment designed to foster social interaction and well-being. Originally planned as a park for seniors, the project evolved into a space that welcomes people of all ages, encouraging multigenerational engagement. The client’s mission is to create a community hub that balances recreational opportunities, mental wellness, and physical activity through a trauma-informed, accessible design. 

Located in the heart of San Antonio, the acres is part of the larger Hemisfair redevelopment initiative and integrates seamlessly with the city’s urban fabric. The design draws on community feedback and incorporates elements like hybrid spaces, outdoor learning areas, and green infrastructure. The goal is to enhance the urban experience by creating a space that invites everyone to interact, relax, and enjoy the benefits of shared outdoor space, ultimately fostering a stronger sense of community.
